In tropical, temperate and subtropical regions of the world, this type of fungus can be seen very rarely. Its primary description and discovery was carried out on one of the islands of Sri Lanka (Ceylon). Now Gardner’s Lizurus has also been found in Australia, North and South America, and India. In some European regions (in particular, in the UK, Portugal, France, Germany). This type of fungus does not have a specific fruiting season. It does not appear constantly, there are suggestions that it was brought to the territory of the Federation from Australia or Ceylon.
